Greetings!
My name is Karen Vollmer-Poseley, and I began working with resin as a way to preserve the flowers from my garden.
My creative process took off and soon I found that my flowers weren't
growing as fast as I was itching to create. So I began exploring YouTube tutorials and soon became hooked on creating my own pieces, which I lovingly call my “Blooms.”
It’s been about a year now, and I sometimes find myself wondering whether this will remain a beloved hobby or grow into something more. For now, I’m simply enjoying the journey and nurturing this creative passion while continuing my work as a counselor four days a week.
What I love most about this art form is the magic of the process. Each piece is completely unique. As I work, I pour the resin mixture into a mold and add alcohol ink to create flowing designs. Then comes the waiting—after curing for 6 to 12 hours (sometimes longer), the piece is finally ready to be removed from the mold.
Only then do I get to see the final design beneath the surface.
And every single time, it’s a surprise!
Thank you for your interest!
